Music Review

Two cd's that are excellent for listening and or dancing are:

El Encuentro - Johnny Rodriguez Y Su Orquesta
1982 Lo Mejor Records

This is Johnny "Dandy" Rodriguez' debut album after leaving Tipica '73. On lead vocals you have Tempo Alomar and Raulin Martinez. Coro Ray Castro, Ramon Rodriguez and Tito Nieves [Conjunto Clasico]. Six (6) of the eight (8) tracks were written by Ramon Rodriguez and the arrangers were Oscar Hernandez, Lis Cruz, Jose Febles, Marty Sheller, Louis ramirez and Sony Bravo. On this album 'Dandy" plays congas, Tomas "Chucky" Lopez Jr. on bongoes and Startton E. Howlett III "Skip" on timbales. It is an all star lineup. "El Encuentro", "Lago De matrullas" and "Calla Buey" are my favorite of the tracks. MUST HAVE THIS!

Musical Seduction - Bobby Valentin 1978 Bronco Records

El Rey del Bajo presents us with an extraordinary album here. lead vocals by Johnny Vazquez and Luigi Texidor, Mario Roman on piano, Yayo El Indio and Elliott Romero on chorus. Bobby arranges all the songs. "Naci Moreno", "Linda Margarita", "Tambien El Apio Es Verdura", "Todo El Mundo Escucha" are my favorites. YOU MUST HAVE THIS!
